5 Day Intensive Narrative Therapy Training Program
With DAVID EPSTON
About the Program
People give meaning to their lives through the “identity stories” that are available to them.
These stories make it possible for them to make sense of their own life experiences. This five-day,
skill-building training experience will explore the propositions associated with the Narrative
metaphor and will demonstrate the practices of narrative therapy that help people to
challenge and break free of these negative stories and assist them to explore alternative“identity stories” that offer new possibilities for their lives.
The practice of Narrative Therapy will be illustrated through vignettes, videotaped segments
of interviews and small group exercises.

Narrative
Therapy Training Program
Karen Young, M.S.W. and Guest Trainer Scot Cooper B.A.

This
training program offers participants the opportunity
to fully explore the many exciting ideas and practices
that inform the poststructuralist therapies such as narrative
practice. This experience will involve 36 hours of thorough
examination of narrative ways of thinking and being,
presented in clear useable ways that can be taken into
everyday therapeutic work. Participants will be encouraged
and inspired to use their new knowledge, experience,
and imaginations to create a therapy practice that is
uniquely their own. The option for an extended program
that includes practicing at a walk-in clinic with the
trainer is available. |
